The annual election for the Amana Colonies Land Use District (ACLUD) trustees will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Three regular trustee positions will appear on the ballot.
Nomination papers are available at aclud.org or by appointment only at the ACLUD office at 4304 220th Trail, in Amana. Papers are also available at the Auditor’s Office in the East Courthouse Annex at 970 Court Avenue in Marengo between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
The deadline for filing nomination papers is September 11th at 4:30 PM in the Auditor’s Office.
Please note the polling hours for this election will be from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM at the Middle Amana Fire Station.
Voter registration deadline is Friday, September 25th for this election. Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by Noon on Thursday October 8th. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. Voters are still encouraged to register by September 25th in the auditor’s office if your residence has changed.
Anyone wishing to vote absentee before election day may do so by stopping in the Auditor’s Office Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM after September 11th, 2020. Voter Registration Forms and Absentee Ballot Request Forms are also available by mail or on the Iowa County website at www.co.iowa.ia.us .
